Greetings!
My name is Sara Hayden Parris, and I’m the President & Founder of Annie’s Foundation, a group of 6 Johnston moms dedicated to ensuring that members of our community have unhindered access to books and characters that reflect the diversity and complexity of the world around them.
This GivingTuesday, we’re reaching out to you to help us make a significant impact. We believe that every book can change a life, and your generosity today can help us do just that—change lives.
We hope you’ll support our work by making a donation of $50. Your contribution will allow us to purchase diverse books currently being targeted by book banners and removed from public school and public libraries across Iowa. For example, a donation of even $5 can provide one banned book, while $500 can fund one Susan F. Bennett Memorial Grant. Every contribution will bring us closer to our goal.
In just two short years, Annie’s Foundation has handed out over 11,000 FREE banned and challenged books, and with your support, we hope to make that 20,000 by the end of 2025!
